NYE Countdown: Festive Makeup Suggestions
5:25 PM
Lots of parties and festivities are going on around this time of the year so you need to be prepared! The right outfit matters (So you better check last year's post about Christmas outfits or even the one that's coming up tomorrow!) but what matters as well is the makeup!
Also you will need definetely a black eyeliner for this look which you can run on the outter half of your lower lashline and you can smudge it a little bit with a black eyeshadow (or the one you used previously on your outter corner). And don't forget to apply tons of mascara (and for an even more dramatic effect falsh lashes)!
...And a HAPPY NEW YEAR-3 to go!!!
Stay tuned for our outfit suggestions for New Year's Eve!!!
So it's HOLIDAY SEASON and even though we'll always try to achieve the "less is more with a hint of glitter" or the "victoria's secret + bold lips" kind of looks we will always fail big time. And even if you're not a massive glitter fan you'll always fall for a bit of frosty eyeshadows around this time of the year (+bold lips, ALWAYS).
This is one of my favourite looks and those are the products we recomend in order to achieve it:
EYES
For this look I used my Sephora palette from a couple years ago but if you can't get your hands on this one I find that there are some really good jupes for the colours in all three of the Naked Palettes. For instance:
- From the Original Naked Palette you can use: Half Baked (eyelids), Toasted (crease), Hustle (outter corner) and Virgin (inner corner/brow bone)
- From the Naked 2: Half Baked or Chopper (eyelids), a mix of Yok and Busted (crease), Busted (outter corner) and Verve (inner corner/brow bone)
- From the Naked 3: Trick (eyelids), Liar (crease), a mix of Blackheart and Mugshot (or Factory) (outter corner) and a mix of Strange and Dust (inner corner/brow bone)
From top to bottom: Original Naked Palette, Naked 2, Naked 3 all by Urban Decay |

FACE
We suggest you use a really good primer in order to hold all the products in place! Create the perfect base using your favourite foundation (we prefer a matte one because we previously suggested a lot of frost in the eyes),concealer (both under the eyes and wherever you feel like you have a "problem" area), a contour blush/powder,a pink-toned blush, a bit of powder to make everything stay in place and to add to the festive-makeup spirit you can always add a bit of highlight in your cheekbones.
Our Picks:
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - L'oreal Lumi Magique Concealer - Kiko Skin Evolution Concealer Stick - MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation SPF15 |
Tarte Amazonian Clay Cheek to Cheek Blush Set (Clockwise: Amour, Classic, Prim, Daydream) - NYX Finish Powder - Benefit Hoola Bronzer - MAC Mineralize Skinfinsh Highlighter in Soft & Gentle |
Finally to finish of the look don't forget to add a bold LIPSTICK!
We both prefer a matte lip so we wouldn't really go for a lipgloss (especially since we went a bit overboard with the eyes) but you can if you want to pink toned and dark red lips work better for this look. For an even better finish you can use your lipstick's matching pencil.
Add a bit of your favourite perfume and you're ready to go!
