NYFW S/S'15: DAY 8

2:50 PM

Fashion Weeks are again on and this year we could define all the trends for Spring/Summer 2015 from the begining. Join us to our journey where we'll be discovering all the things that need to be checked out during the upcoming weeks.

  Check here the previous days: 1 & 2, 3, 4, 5 (Part1 & Part 2), 6 (Part 1 & Part 2), 7

Ralph Lauren & J. Mendel

Ralph Lauren's collection was (seriously) high-end, combining sporty and safari looks. The texturized cargo pants from suede, the various materials (such as silk) mixed with metallic elements, incredible jewellery and pops of color created a unique spring collection! As for J.Mendel, Gilles' idea to collaborate -once again- with the artist Enoc Perez was simply brilliant. The result was above and beyond from all the usual Ready-to-Wear designs as it reminded us of architecture. The futuristic graphic prints with the additional bright colors, such as red, yellow and fuschia, complemented the details created by materials such as fur and leather.

Calvin Klein Collection & Marc Jacobs

Calvin Klein's collection was all about elongated, narrow sillhouettes and minimal geometric details. No embelishments were needed as this show was all about shape and simplicity. The classy navy blue and red colors, complemented the knitwear and the leather deatails in a unique way showing that Calvin Klein's new innovative era isn't that different from the good old days. Marc Jacobs' show was a whole other story; the contrasts created by the surroundings and the music which were made to leave everyone in the audience in their own world, and the comformist clothes gave us food for thought. Always updated, Jacobs' prooved that military will always be a big thing in fashion. His details, from the gold buttons to the colorcoded embellishments only made the looks more modern and fresh but with the sense of uniform-wear.
