And we are on the LAST DAY OF NEW YORK FASHION WEEK!!
Can you believe it? We most certainly can't!! 9 long full of fashion, runways, street style, after-parties, front rows and not to mention the pre Fashion Week period! But as we mentioned on our previous post (you can find all the our recaps from the NYFW just above) we will be with you for the remaining of the Fashion Month and that means that you have to stay tuned for London, Milan and Paris.

And the New York Fashion Week Day 9 ended with the Marc Jacobs show. Firstly, we are talking about Marc Jacobs, the master of making a runway looking like something else than a runway. The guy that has a magic power to transport you from your front row seat to the moon and back. He did just like that. He took the Hammerstein Ballroom, gave it lights and the magic happend. A lot of designers this week opted for flowers, grunge, nudes, fairytales. Not Marc. 
He decided to throw a rave party. Why not? It's his fashion show for all what we are concerned. If it is a rave party from Marc, trust me you want to be there. Because he can do it and do it in the most stylist, i-want-it-all-now phase. Yes we even want the 7-inch high heels that strutted down the runway. The official theme (if we can call it like that) was alienation. He stated "I felt we should do something friendlier, kinder, pretty, lots of prints. Except," he declared "I did it my way." (slowly we put the record of Frank Sinatra singing "I did it my way").
Concerning the show? It had everything from wigs, to sky-high 7-inch boots to the elite of top models going down the runway. The show might have started out with a pastel color palette, but it moved into bright rave wear quickly; shocking pink and royal purple appeared alongside camouflage prints.
I don't think we have more to say, we will just let you enjoy it yourself as well!




And since it's the last day of the New York Fashion Week we will do mix of the best parties of that happened during the week. A last look to our favourite celebrities, it girls, designers, bloggers.

And we are kicking off Day 8 of the New York Fashion, the semi-last day of this Fashion Week (again no worries we still hve 3 cities to go ;) ) with one of the American favourites and true American spirit designer (and ex-Project Runway judge) Michael Kors. What can you say about a runway that had live music? We loved the vibe on the venue with the live band and Rufus Wainwright on the mic, performing for the guests and later for the models walking down the runway.
Then Michael managed to cast for his runway the models-hot-right-now aka Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and an A-list crowd like Sienna Miller.And he did what he is doing best, the perfect mixture between feminine/masculine. The colour palette was rich and juicy with grapefruit pink and lime green. Florals didn't escape the mix and as for the shapes and kind of clothes? He had everything from jumpsuits to nipped-waist little dresses and pant suits as well as trench coats. Political messages tried to mix with fashion in the show but we will keep the groovy vibe and dance to the next designer.


And after we danced away from Kors venue we found ourselves sitting front row at the Delpozo show! At first you mind think "Wait! Isn't that the week that all Pret-a-Porter collections air? Then why i'm seeing something between couture and pret-a-porter?" The logical answer is above. You are sitted on the Delpozo show and that's what the creative directors like to do with their collection. Accept it and enjoy it.
So yeah as eccentric Delpozo might look, making possible for the term pret-a-couture to exist, we have to admit that we do anticipate some extravaganza here and there. And our answers were heard! *Thank the Delpozo gods*. The show itself contained some art inside, because we consider this large and beautifully crafted jewelry hanging or place on the model's ears art and they wore a whole show/exhibition by themselves. Josep Font managed to marry his love for generous. bubble-like volumes with his prior training in architecture. The fabric he used was appropriate for spring with metallic floral jaquard for some pieces and knits and lightweight fabrics. We like and applause his direction!


As much as we would like to look at the earpieces made for te Delpozo show (yes secretly we have already planned out our how we would pair them daytime or evening time), we had to take our awaiting imaginary Uber/taxi ride and rush to the next presentation which was Brooks Brothers. Zac Posen has been deciding for around 3 years for the brand and this time around for the Spring collection he had found his rhythm and direction with it.
With summer destinations as his inspiration, no matter if that was an ocean cliff or a beautiful sunset on the beach. His key pieces of the collection contained a garden-print button-front skirt, an eyelet shirtdress, a nautical-inspired skirt. And he didn't stop there but took care also the working women that are looking to enrich their wardrobe with chic suits, knit twinsets and dresses in shades that calls office appropriate like navy, grey, white. Smart Zac Posen, very smart ;)



Heels on the feet and again we are rushing to another presentation for which we didn't get the memo to dress down a little bit and put our trainers. And our would appreciate the rest (8th day of fashion week remember that). So, a presentation and a basketball game. The designer had a sports for spring in mind either ways.
He hit home run with his tomboy atheltic clothes. We all crave the cozyness of the sweatpants but on the other hand we don't want to look homeless when we are running our errands or we are not quite sure if the era of the velvet Juice Couture sweatpants are back yet (and we don't want to be the first ones bringing back something that is not ready to comeback yet) so we took very kindly the suggestion from Assembly New York!  A silk loungewear pieces and a sexy, striped mesh tank that riffed on a referee uniform we have our eyes on you! Thank you for the unlike suggestion Assembly!



Hugo Boss didn't stop his collection being shown only to the attendees of the show but he decided to share it with the world by Facebook Live with blogger Andrea Torres as one of the hostess. We liked that since our feet were quick tired running from show after show ;). That's not the only thing we liked because we found the monochromatic theme pretty fresh into the eye even though someone can jump right in and say that's not fresh at all.
The colour palette: royal blue, red, green, white, black and nudes. Occasional combinations of the aforementioned colours happened in different ways and fabrics, there were a dress from example that the bodice were blue but the hands and the shoulders area were covered with green look-like net or was that lace?  Throw also floral into the mix for the sake of Spring. Effortless and up-to-date and spirngy. Can you ask for more? (We see the lifted flats Hugo, we see and aprreciate them)


And for all the monochromatic colour we saw in Hugo Boss that looked fresh in the eye and upbeat-ness, we move to Derek Lam where a different kind of monochromatic took place this time in a more calm neutral tones. A few broken brick reds and prints made their way into the collection just enough to break the monotony and tie it all up.
Main inspiration of his collection was Georgia O’Keeffe because as the designer stated "for her personality, style and remarkable career of “taking one thing and looking at it again and again." The colours he borrowed from the palette of New Mexico home. Lam claimed that Spring collections are especially tricky to make since you can't hide under furs and heavy coats but you really have to think about cotton and linen and how to bring the best out of them in a way it feels modern and not something the customers won't find in their wardrobe already. Simple and plain, yet gorgeous to the eye.



Anna Sui it's next. And we are taking a break from the monochromatic theme the previous 2 designers had for us these day and simple yet perfect. Sui had to heavy accessorizing in her pieces and we don't mean that in a bad way. We just mean that there were cowboy hats, jackets, belts, shoes. 
The American designer had a Western rock vibe going on with mixed prints and styling. We just want the pictures to let them speak by itself. She brought another vibe into the spring collections a little unexpected and new! All the American favorite in one collection? Is that even possible?



And now onto our favourite gown or masterpieces designer. That's not other than Marchesa. We always dream that once in our lifetime we will be able to afford at least one spectacular gown of hers. And we hope that this time will come quickly as well.
The show had everything. First of all a palette that fitted a a sunrise or sunset. Lilac, light blue, and blush pink.Happy that they paid homage to Greece with a Grecian one shoulder dress in a shiny gold lame. Yes yes we love them because they believe in more is more for an evening gown and they make us feel like Disney princesses. They don't follow the trends and do what they believe it's right for the brand. We will probably see a lot of their creations walking down the red carpet on Sunda's Emmy Awards. For now, get lost into their and ours fairytale.

Here we go with Day 7 already. Yes we are also in shock that New York Fashion Week is almost over, but don't you worry! We have 3 more cities to go! London, Milan and Paris are next up, keeping the fashion month up and alive!
The day started with Tory Burch and a mixture of pop-of-colour, materials and different prints together in one outfit. The designer stated that she was in a mood of nostalgia and she wanted to go home. Home is the land of the pastels and re-pumped preppy clothes.
Palepink–trimmed Kelly green cardigan, reinterpreted smoking jackets, flouncy beaded prairie skirts, nautical sweaters, batik-printed twill, and gumball-size pearls. A tribute and ode to the 1960's and making a preppy clothes look cooler!


Following we had Jil Sander Navy who we always trust for wearable pieces. This time the creative director of the brand decided to drew inspiration from French girls whose cool relaxed vibes we are always envious off.
You ask us what we loved in the collection? The candy floss purple and pink and how airy they looked. By airy we like they look comfortable and just with a few pieces we could have a complete collection for spring. Jil Sander Navy got us covered for those spring chilly nights, because knitwear were strong with this collection (we couldn't avoid the Star Wars reference, we apologize). To break off all this sweetness of it, he included tailored looks and also sporty effects with voluminous Bermuda shorts  with utilities pockets,  lightweight and windbreaker denim shirt. To tie everything together, accessories were also part of the collection with painted heels and charm necklaces.

And we are all familiar with the next designer because in one point of our life we have openly or secretly craved/still craving/looking forward to wear a wedding dress of hers. And that's not other than else, Vera Wang ladies and gentlemen. Yes, wedding dresses put her on the spotlight, however that's not the only thing that have kept her there! And he met is simple for us backstage and described her collection as "Black, black, black".
It wasn't all black though. Some sleeves came from brown and navy and as for the length of them? That was the surprising detail with the length extending the wrist and at times also the fingertips. Peplum shorts paired with ripped tanks with an exposed midriff. Sheer georgette skirts and blouses with handcuffs. Basically Vera Wang is going through her dark grunge period. She threw some whites into the mix and some lavish pearl embroideries. Overall, it was something unexpected from her side and we can't say that we totally hate it. Let's see what the future will hold.

In a patriotic palette the next designer presented her Spring'17 collection. That's Gabriel Heast. In July, Lena Dunham wore an off-the-shoulder dress by the designer for the Democratic National Convection. Apart from the similar to the patriotic colours (for the USA natives of course), which are not bad colours for a Spring collection, not bad at all, the designer delivered a very well-executed collection.
Although the designer hasn't been in business for long (only 1,5 years), we came to like her sharpness but at the same time the easy going 9-to-5 or 9-to-midnight convertible-ness they have on them. Like the sky pale blue dress or is it a skirt and a blouse, pictured below. It's known that tailoring and knitting are the two important factors of the brand. Tailoring is shown in the stunning crisp black one shoulder gown, but the knits are not very well pictured but you expect high quality merino wool on them.

And we are going to dreamy Rodarte. Etheral but crafty lace dresses struted down the runway. They used as inspiration the seventies Spanish film "The Spirit of the Beehive". The film celebrates the childlike imagination and as they said "and because we had some many bees in our sunflowers".
You will find all that in the honeycomb laces and pollenlike surface treatments on dresses, some ruffled with Spanish flare.
As the variations of the colours? You will see them coming in black and white, in polka dots, some thread with gold floral. The lenghth was either short or floor length, it doesn't matter because if you ask us, if we could buy all this childlike imagination the collection interpreted we would have done it in a hearbeat! Especially when you get to be a Spaniola wearing them ;) OLE!

Alice + Olivia chose to present their Spring collection into the Parco dei Mostri in Rome. Stacey Bendet found magical the park that is full of frightening sculptures and wanted to turn into a show. Which in the end she did.
Combining the omantic Roman theme in a few ways, referencing both strong, sexy Italian women and feminine, ethereal Botticelli angels. When the name Alice + Olivia appears you expect to see ich with detail and feminine frills: lush beading; textured, floral-embroidered lace, yes it had eveerything. Even a skirt filled with applique butterflies. Monochrome pieces were also present for the girls that are not so daring to reach maximum romanticism. 


We got an invitation to the dark side. To the very dark side. Or the dirty side of a cars graveyard. That was the runway for the Coach 1941.Grunge elements were again all over the place with studs having a central role on the heel of some gorgeous looking leather creepers. Grunge and girl gangs.
Sheerness with printed roses on them, leather jackets and coats that were more embellished than ever, brought an unlike mixture of outerwear ever for the brand. Pictures of Elvis Presley printed into various elements and being an influence in general to the collection can be see in the creepers as well. With all those details and the drop-waisted silhouettes mixing the anarchic scribblings on the petal, the new dresses of the collection are expected to fly of the racks when they are on sale!


And Day 7 concluded with Narciso Rodriguez. Taking out the noise and destraction of the the whole buzz of New York Fashion Week, the designer decided to keep his guest list minimal and rearrange the sits so the models were closer than ever to the attendees of the show. He wanted to bring all the attention back to the clothes and respect that moment.
So we had the opportunity to admire in peace what Rodriguez does best: bias draping, architectural seaming, and, this collection, some unexpected embroideries. We liked the clean cut of his line. brought something refreshing to the eye and we also could pair it with current pieces of the past to create something modern and up-to-date. Most currently loved the metallic dress paired with the coat. Seems like metallics came to stay this season. We are most definitely not complaining about it!


And once again we couldn't leave this post like that without updating you with who sat front row and Rodarte, what happened on the dinner Tory Burch gave and the after-party of again Rodarte!

The day opened with the glorious 35th's anniversary of Carolina Herrera's anniversary in the fashion business and her collection was a perfect mix of the time that have passed. Her inspiration? Pieces from the past that got an unexpected update for "the woman of today" as the designer said herself.

Stand out pieces of the collections? The evening gowns proved to be the most enticing. What made them all enticing was the personal touches of the memories of the past. Like the gingham blouse the designer herself wore all the time and decided that it was time to be renewed for this collection. But she didn't limited herself into the past and moved into the future with medium-washed indigo denim dresses, paper thin brocades which managed to look very easy to pair despite their appearance and volume. As the designer wrapped it up "I'd like for this collection to be....effortless. Notice all the flat shoes!"


Next up we moved to Rosie Assoulin's presentation where the designer remind us that summer not matter what bad of events can happen around the globe, the symbol of it it's still the beach. That was the vibe of the collection which gives hope to the watcher. Sticking her umbrella into her own beach Assoulin remind us that summer is still not over and drew inspiration from her own childhood vacation from Jersay Shore. She gets to experience that all over again with her own kids now but from a different point of view.
Dream vacations call for dream clothes as well. And that's nothing else than sundresses and cotton separates and the parachute kind of red gown (which if you ask us, we have dreams about it since last night). Even though the theme was dream vacations, that doesn't mean that Assoulin doesn't know about real women and she knows that they work and don't spend their time in a beach (as much they will want to) and managed to mix her couture shapes into casual florals and shapes. Follow the Assoulin way and be bright then ;)


From the calmness of the beach, let's leap to the craziness of Jeremy Scott. The good crazy that all want and anticipate from Jeremy Scott. The collection brought in mind the movie Smithereens and brought the good old vibe of the city that the movie also described.
The designer disclosed before the show, that indeed he had nostalgic moments of the 80s and everything that includes from East Village squats to pervy peep shows. This period still fascinated a huge crowd because it conjures a bygone vibrancy—a time when New Yorkers could get up to all kinds of freakiness, thanks to the fact that they were largely ignored. You could also see it from the flashy colour palette of the clothes showed. Also, another designer that its theme went around sex (after Alexander Wang). Bondage materials from latex and collars, to half unzipped clothes and knits and tees having HOT HOT HOT  or Rated X all over them. But you couldn't call it tacky. No not all. Actually you can relate his models to heroins and heroes. As we said in the beginning, we all want a piece of Jeremy in the end.


 Proenza Schouler duo had something new to show in their Spring '17 collection. The use of colour. And that's were we found ourselve sitting.
Going out of their later spring collections, in which they mainly used nude tones to symbolize spring, we saw colour in their clingy ribbed dresses. But they also stayed true to their art and revealed their trip to Paris in order to visit almost dead ateliers to pick up new techniques for the collections. We saw being translated to check tops were made from ostrich feathers glued into long strips of fabric (say what?!!) and stripped dresses woven from leather. We also saw some boxy oversize ees layered over long-sleeved shirts in a streetwise way and featuring, among other things, images of Greek statuary and a snapshot of Jack’s closed fist. 
We want to see more of these from Proenza Schouler for sure in the future if they want to continue to lead the fashion scene of New York city.


The day processed and we found ourselves sitting in the front row (virtually of course) of a what looked like an abandoned garage. Or park. Or a beach late in the night or early in the morning. Either ways, there were dirt and flowers on the make-a-shift runway. And we liked the dark vibe. Lim himself, looked in his Californian roots for this collection.
Another designer that took inspiration from another area of time, this time from the Victorian time, starting with bathing suit. And he tried to also put 90s into the mix with shorts-shorts,body suits with a thigh-graze and something that came to stay through the past seasons, no matter if it is winter or summer, the slouchy slip dress. Floral made a modest appearance on the runway and bikini tops under sleeveless coats remind us Gigi or Kendall. All in all, the relaxed beach vibe was present and made us crave spring and summer already.


Wes Gordon that it's up next, opted to take us to galleries and streets to showcase us his new Spring'17 collection. Not a bad idea for a change of scenery and tasting the clothes into real-time and life blend-ability. It's also not unusual for designer Wes Gordon to present his collection like that, since he likes video presentations or Instagram ones,more than building up a show. He believes by not doing so, he lets more creativity to come into the creation of beautiful clothes as he has stated.
He introduced his collection as a jewel box. We have to agree with him, since his clothes brought heavy notes of romanticism. He didn't escape as well the references to the 90s with the bias-cut slipdresses covered in lace in soft pink and nude tones. He worked out a paper thin plaid taffeta floor-length trench coat which worked wonders on taking us out of the variations of blush and nudes.

Up next is Oscar de la Renta. With newly announced creative directors on board, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia of Monse but they weren't the ones that created the collection presented yesterday in New York. Instead they took the front row to enjoy it and they will take duties for the next collections. The design credits for the collection went to a studio team of 10 people that actually took a bow in the end for the audience. Brava to them!


Oscar de la Renta is followed by Zac Posen. Following the success of his fall collection that is currently on stores right now, and the feedback from the retailers, Zac Posen decided to move the techniques he uses to create his stunning evening pieces to day-time. The show presented was a perfect variation between day to nightwear, throwing in some not so usual creations of what we are used to Zac creating,
Motorbike pants and motorbike jackets followed the anatomical  seaming that he is using to his gown and they are expected to be fully adopted by his audience when especially you can pair it with a circle skirt and a white T-shirt. Talk about badass right? The aforementioned seams followed of course his dresses and the result was architecturally floating hemlines. And we know that the show was a home-run when Uma Therman gave a standing ovation during Posen's finale bow.


Last but most definitely not least for Day 6 of the NYFW, we have DKNY. Earlier this summer, the brand was sold to the G-III Apparel Group, a company that owns and controls the licenses such as Calvin Klein. With also two new creativie directors on board, Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow, the question that was hanging around in the area was, what kind of direction the brand will take now?
With the collection complete by the duo of designers before the sale, it kinda had a prophetic sign into it. It's futuristic. And that's good because we don't know what the future of the brand will look like! Hoodies and anoraks were variated a lot in the collection setting another strut for the brand, a streetwise one. The elements of the DKNY were there but into another mixture of clothes. Hopefully the designing duo will be allowed to continue this way and we are hoping for a journey of a lifetime!

But we couldn't leave after we shared all of these amazing collections without any after-party fun! Remember, we are trying to make you feel as close to New York as possible where the fashion is buzzing. We are sitting front row here to all the shows and being A-listers to the after parties! And first it's the Jeremy Scott's Spring '17 after party were everyone was there. The designer stated that he is relieved that is over and always happy to have fun with his friends after it! Performances, lights and the booze was running free! Let's enter then, shall we?


Diane Von Furstenberg couldn't skip out all the fun, could she? That's why they celebrate the new collection and most importantly the new person behind the wheel, Jonathan Saunders that already gave a new blow of wind into the DVF brand. Diane herself greeted all the attendees from Karlie Kloss to Allison Williams  and Leandra Medine and stated that she's very happy with Saunders and his intelligence with a confident aesthetic.
