London Fashion Week Fall 2014

11:13 PM

London Fashion Week came to an end. Our feelings are mixed. In one side we had Burberry Prorsum, Tom Ford and Mary Kantratzou and on the other one we had Erdem, House of Holland and Vivienne Westwood Red Label. This is why LFW is my favorite one from all the fashion weeks. Great names, great ideas, lovely clothes. You must be very selective. After New York Fashion Week were every fashion show was different than the other and you could be amazed and disappointed at the same point, here in London things are more stable. You will always be amazed! For me that is what is happening every time. So, let's start with our first show...

DAY 1

Joseph: The house of Joseph this year decided to go with the cozy and at the same time to add some leather elements. The result of this compination was overisized coats and sweaters- Motorcycle jackets and long skirts.

House of Holland: Sparkle, Satin and the teenager mood that everyone should have. That's the spirit of the collection this year. House of Holland presented velvet dresses with logos on them, ripped jeans and generally crazy combinations of textures, materials and prints.

DAY 2

Vivienne Westwood Red Label: Two words can decribe this show. Nostalgia and aesthetic. Viv prefered -for this season- coats, suits and coctail dresses with the retrospective quality as usual. At some point we saw some leather details something that is common for a Westwood shows.

Mary Katrantzou: Mary changed her style and she took one more step to her fashion career. Her show was one of our favourites of the LFW. Everyone wrote about her and that is something to be proud of (as we're Greek as well). Vogue, Style.com and lots of magazines had Mary's show as one of the best. So lets move on with the details. What we saw in this show was power, symmetry, eccentric prints and symbols.

Day 3

Christopher Kane: No words, my favorite collection eeever! I am in love with those clothes. What we saw and we loved? Nylon coats, lot of PVC, raffle skirts and total black outfits. This year the inspiration was simply Japan. Just take a look at those bags!

Burberry Prorsum: Again Burberry made its miracle. I watched this show live and I have to say it was incredible. Lovely music along with the most amazing colors and outfits for fall. Burberry will never let you down. We saw lot of  cashmere blanket-inspired pieces and mohair coats -again-, pastel and deep colors as red, blue and green. Also, this season we saw that waists were high, bodices were shirred, lengths were long. Lovely collection, once again.

Tom Ford: How can I close this post without my favorite Tom Ford? This season we saw the aggresive side of Tom and his influence from the 60's. Sparkle, elegance, black and white outifits, total red with some velvet completed his collection.  Cowboy boots and lace tops were shown as the trends of the night.

Well those were our favorite fashion shows from London Fashion Week. Write bellow your comments telling us which show was your favorite. Thanks for reading!
