NYFW Highlights: DAY 1

3:10 PM

After a long break, Chromantics team makes a major comeback just in time for one of the most important seasons of the year. As you may have guessed, it's that time of the year again. The one when we all try to catch up with every single show (and sometimes fail miserably). But -as always- somewhere along the way we'll manage once again to bring to you our POV from all our favorite shows, trends and after parties from the first day of NYFW 'till the very last one of Paris Fashion Week. So, let's dig in the shows of NYFW DAY 1.

We will start with the first show of the day from the VFiles. At this show we saw amazing creations of patchwork denim combined with leather jackets. The ambience of the show was mixed up on the beggining as we had total nude bodies and clothes with extravagant shapes and so much glitter that we all agreed that Miley Cyrus could be one of their potential clients. By the end of the show the shapes changed covering up the bodies with jumpsuits or long skirts, combined with those amazing not-so-easy-to-wear wool shoes. On the other hand Nicolas K. presented a more smooth collection. Oversized, airy dresses with see-through details. We really loved the ombre effect and the individual colors. Lastly one of the main keypoints of this collection were the mixed materials like suede, leather and plastic.

BCBG reminds us spring at Miami, far away from the cold NYC. It was something like a prologue for summer. The whole collection was a contrast of materials, prints and attire combination. Maxi dresses with sweaters, florals combined with psychedelic or striped prints, mini shorts and cropped jackets, and of course the bucket hat in many amazing colors! On the other hand, Creatures of the Wind showed us the darker side of spring. Black, white, red and yellow creations were the protagonists of this collection. Maxi flowery dresses, total red suits, high waisted skirts and pants as well as classic lines for coats.

Marissa's Webb collection was about the 60's woman during spring. Simple lines at airy dresses with cute flower prints, nude lilac suits, military total outfits with amazing vests, see-through and suede details on shirts. Gingham pattern and lace created more romantic creations and they were perfectly combined with suede nude heels. Tome collection was all about feminine. Deep V white shirts combined with the classic black cropped pant or a simple skirt, oversized stripped coats and vests, maxi dresses with psychedelic prints and silk, see-through and plastic were some of the materials that made up a few excellent details on the runway looks.

Edie Parker, presented the spring 2016 collection last night and brought summer again in September. In the colors of blue, silver and purple the most loved clutches by celebrities clutches brought a different breeze into the rainy weather of NYC. Famous people, bloggers and models couldn't miss the event and we cannot wait to see them wear those clutches on red carpets!
