LFW Highlights: DAY 4

1:27 AM

The fact that NYFW is over can mean a number of things. The one that matters the most right now, though, is that London Fashion Week has begun! The past has proven that the Brits know their fashion and that they have a unique way of creating trends and becoming trendsetters. Since the new season awaits, we're excited to see what LFW has to offer. Let's start continue on with DAY 4:

Line, geometry and colour blocking. That's how we will start describing Roksanda's Spring Summer 2016 collection. A mixture of soft pastels and strong colours like canary yellow or black dominated the wooden paneled runway. Proportions had a huge role also with voluminous skirts, big A-line coats, over sized sleeves and airy pants. From soft pastels and black, to prints, floral, flares, sheer and black. So, Antonio Berardi does it with all the above for his collection but keeping the pastels into the game and also throwing a bold red into the mixture. The patterns in the maxi dresses and gowns remind us a little bit of a Spanish flavour.

Erdem, an era of old yet modern romantism came through our screen watching the Spring Summer 2016 Collection parade down the runway. Deem lights with only the outfits to stand out which had a dark and lighter palette from white prints to black and from soft burgundy and light pink to a soft morning yellow and light blue. A transition during day and night while blaring the lines and an era between 1700s and 1800s to the dresses. Dresses with a hemline of below the knee and down and long to the ankle coats some with sheer some with not made their appearance. Next stop, Burberry Prorsum. Live orchestra and Alison's Moyet beautiful voice, echoed on the venue where the military and utility pieces. The Collection offered a variety of dresses -figure-hugging minis, innocent yet flirty sheer laces in not only black that again overpowered the runway but primrose yellow and mint, relaxed maxi pieces and statement coats with gold details only Burberry Prorsum can do. Backpacks was offered as the bag of the season for the brand.

Today was a recital for designer Christopher Kane. After presenting the Burberry Prorsum Collection, next up on the schedule was the designer's own fashion line aka Christopher Kane. For his own collection he decided to add up on the colour. And colour blocking in an abstract way creating the illusion of the construction on the garment. When you see plastic, you think cheap and not easy to wear but leave it to the designer's hands to make it expensive and totally wearable. Colours, unconventional material and a unique way to express things from Kane's Spring Summer 2016. Other one we were looking forward to, was Peter Pilotto. With an inspiration from gathering material from Greece as cool cotton, smocking and lace which was putted all over the collection. With body hugging dresses or  beautifully stretchy ones  and skirts with pocket details the designers of the brand manage to create an easy going vibe for their Spring Summer collection.

Lines, checks, jeans,a country vibe and sheer, yet girly flirty skirts and college inspired knitwear. All of that you can find it in Preen Line Spring Summer 2016 collection's presentation. It's what you want to wear on a casual date night for us, to look casual but seductive in a naive way, and that's what you want right? Effortless so you can focus on other matters. Belstaff in their presentation for the season, presented an easy transformed pieces with a loose but luxe pieces inspired by outdoor activities and in a palette of soft almond hues. Trench coats, safari jackets with strict waists, tailored cropped pants, gave the air of feminine and sporty woman.
